New Headquarters for the Alliance Française in Carmel!
For twenty-eight years the Alliance Française d’Indianapolis has partnered with the International School of Indiana -ISI, growing to become an active part of cultural and educational development of our state.
Though the notable support of ISI continues, the Alliance Française has just reached a new milestone in Indiana. The Alliance Française is now officially headquartered in Carmel, right in the heart of Carmel City Center, at Pedcor Square: 760 3rd Ave S.W. Suite 212, Carmel, Indiana 46032. Educational programs including language classes, will now be hosted on both the Indianapolis-ISI and the Carmel campuses.
Carmel is a strategic location for the Alliance Française. A significant number of the organization members reside in Carmel, including the Honorary Consul of France in Indiana, Martin Baier. Moreover, over a half of the Alliance Française sympathizers and family members with children, live north of 49th Street in Indianapolis toward the suburbs of Zionsville, Westfield, Noblesville, and Fishers.
Locating to Carmel will increase the organization’s visibility including events attendance, boost French language programs for high schools in the city and surrounding areas, and reboot their family and children programs, including weekends language immersion camps, French language and French cooking classes for teens and the little ones.
“We are looking forward to enriching the city with the French and francophone cultures including art, cinema, music, gastronomy and variety of educational and exchange programs,” said Jean Minka, executive director of Alliance Française.
“We are pleased to welcome Alliance Française to Carmel. Their relocation adds another great element to the cultural experiences available at Carmel City Center,” said Melissa Averitt, senior vice president at Pedcor Companies.
Having offices in Carmel also moves the Alliance Française one step closer to their vision to establish a European cultural hub in this evolving multi-cultural city. The Alliance Française is energized with this move, and is looking forward to working with the city of Carmel, Pedcor and the community, to continue to make Carmel the best place to live and a premier site for arts and culture in Indiana..
